IT4B are running a hands on Search Engine Optimisation course at the SEIC Loughborough University on 19th April 2007. The course will start at 10:00 and finish at approximately 14:00.
The half day course is intended to help businesses improve their position on major search engines so that their business can be more easily found.
The course has lots of practical activities and will help delegates to avoid common pitfalls that beset the web site owner.
The practical activities will include:
- Analysis of existing site design
- Analysis of existing site content
- Analysis of incoming external links
- Identifying keywords and phrases for your business
- Creating meta tags for your web pages
- Writing page copy to ensure high keyword density
- Hyperlinking site pages
- Obtaining external links to your site
- Creating a Google webmaster account
To derive maximum benefit from the course delegates should bring their ftp username and password with them if they have an existing web site.
